WZRDZ - Junglishious

Nic Xedro aka Nikki Dro

way back in 2003 when we were just wee funkateirs jared and i decided to start Crushed Records as a means of getting our music out to the world. it was pre myspace, pre blogs, and (gasp!) pre friendster. we pressed up our first full length album, LCD, with a bootlegger, and i would sit on the corner of N7th and bedford and sell them with my girlfriend, who made hippy skin care products.....

jump ahead 6 years, and not only are we putting out our own music, but we've surrounded ourselves with amazing artists and talent....I am so excited about Crushed Records in 2009.

One artist that came to us like a lady bug landing on your arm is Nic Xedro. the mystery that surrounds him is intoxicating, he reeks of rockstardom, and the music makes u want to hump everything in sight: man, woman, animal or object.....

as seen on Winnie Cooper and Discobelle we bring to you "Im a Freak" by Nic Xedro aka Nikki Dro....

IM A FREAK - Nic Xedro aka Nikki Dro

WZRDZ - New Video

WZRDZ - MTPB from t-pig on Vimeo.

Money, Time, Power, Bleed. No, its not Obama's plan for the new economy, its a song by WZRDZ!

Nothing goes better with a great song than a great title, and nothing goes better with both than a sweet video.

Check it out.

WZRDZ - The Sleeve Has Dropped!

Here at You Been Crushed we have a penchant for the mystical, the magical, the mythical. Did i mention mysterious? WZRDZ is all of the above and so much more.

Well, the moment we've been waiting for has arrived. The gnomes that work deep in the digital pipes of the internet have delivered the goods. The EP is called "In a Land of Peace and Magic," and to celebrate, WZRDZ have conjured another video for your pleasure, as well as a track to download:

WZRDZ - Woodland Creatures House Party

If you like what you hear you can buy the release at any of these respectable retailers:

Crushed Records Presents: WZRDz

We are very excited to announce the WZRDZ EP release and with it this special promotional video featuring the inspirational 1977 animation by Ralph Bakshi and a remix of a song we all know and love:

From the press release:

Lore has it two WZRDz exist, one in the East and one in the West. The Eastern one lay deep with the knowledge of synths and stabs, while the Western one forged samples heavy as though a master hammer smith.

Their scrolls proclaim alliances amongst the tribes known as iheartcomix, Meterhead, Purple Crush, and Afrodesiac Soundsystem. Through struggle and triumph, through uploading and sequencing, brothers they came to be. By the portal known as Crushed Records, their ancient knowledge shall be revealed. .....WZRDz...

WZRDZ Myspace

This is just a teaser, and by the sound of it, you know the 4 song EP is so banging we really can't post any mp3's till later....though we will be dropping the full Nirvana Remix in a few, so stay tuned....

Norrit!!!!!!

Norrit is dope.  He is also known as Iggy Baby from Lawrence Kansas.  We met this dude round bout 2006 at one of the worst gigs we have ever played.  There was no one there save the promoter, his girl, a crackhead and Norrit, who was djing off of some old ass virtual dj demo program on his windows-98-running-laptop.

Obviously he was cool as hell and way up on his electroclash.  didn't think about him for a few years until Haldan from palms out showed us his myspace and informed us he was putting this mystery dude out on his label (not this release).

He has a kick ass style and really puts some personality into his remixes and originals...Of course we jumped on that bandwagon ASAP and asked him to remix a track of ours (turns out he already did but we wanted moar!)

here's a free track from his ep:

Norrit - Make You Love Me (160) (zShare)

and a promo mixtape (megaupload)

1. boo and boo too - no tempo (norrit remix)
2. nomathmatics - prozactro (norrit keeps it mnml mix)
3. ssion - street jizz (norrit's feels dirty bootleg mix)
4. johnny moog - fantastic lover (norrit remix)
5. norrit feat royce diamond - move
6. pirate robot midget - it's my beat now (riva starr remix)
7. oh snap - hi top fade (hostage remix)

10. fake blood - mars
11. curses! - what i need (sharkslayer remix)

Even Busier Boys

Busy Boys. Perhaps you've seen the video. Perhaps you've wondered what it all means. Perhaps you are the one who left a comment on discobelle wondering what drugs we were on when we made it.

Well, to answer you're question: it was a heady combination of high altitude mountain air and finely ground sea salt. Of course, we were freebasing this air-salt combination with a dirty little technique called deep breathing. Please don't try this on your own. its dangerous.

But Busy Boys is about much more than getting cranked up on rock (salt). Its about hustling. its about making something more out of something less. In short, its about the American Dream.

In our travels round the world we have been out there collecting the dopest remixes the european electro underground has to offer just to prove our point. So it is with great pleasure that I drop the original busy boys track and a remix by one of the dukes of the emerging copenhagen ghetto rave scene, jens fokking (of copyfokking).....we'll be teasing you with 192s of the ep gearing up for the release date, November 18th....
